Vampires or librarians?
Schlow Library has launched a new website and you can now read this blog and access it from there. If you haven't seen it, go to schlowlibrary.org today. It is completely redesigned and is a wonder to behold.
I have found two new authors this week, which just makes me want to stay at home and read. The first is Charlaine Harris, who writes the Southern Vampire series with Sookie Stackhouse. I knew about those, but then I discovered three different series and characters created by her. Aurora Teagarden is an ex-librarian (so I had to read those - I actually have more in common with librarians than vampires) who stumbles across dead bodies all the time and solves the crime. Then I discovered her Shakespeare series (where Shakespeare is the name of the town). This character is Lily Bard and she has some tough times and is trying to live below the radar but, of course, crime keeps finding her. And, just today, I found another series by Harris that starts with the book, Grave Sight. This character is Harper Connelly who is a psychic and can find dead people. I know people out there are reading these books because I have to place reserves on them. Let me know what you think about them.
