Annual State College Photo Club Youth Showcase

The Teens Create gallery space features 14 new photos from youth photographers. From a softly-focused portraits to an arid view of a desert tree stump, the images highlight the creativity of our local teen artists.

The photographs by the students will hang in the Teens Create space on the 2nd floor throughout the month of November.

The State College Photo Club judged 92 photographic entries submitted by State College Area High School students. Of those, 14 photos were chosen for the State College Photo Club’s Youth Showcase. The winners were chosen in different categories: Architecture, People or Animals, Scapes, Color Open, and Monochrome Open. Congratulations to the winning photographers:

  • Saige Adair
  • Alberto Cervone
  • Al Eburne
  • Avery Havird
  • Kaylee Johnson
  • Brianna McDonald
  • George Mann
  • Caedmon Milinovich

The above photos were submitted to the Photographic Society of America’s (PSA’s) International Youth Showcase, of which 10 were accepted to be displayed at the society’s annual Photo Festival in September 2024 in Tucson, Arizona. PSA gave honors to two State College entries. Al Eburne achieved 2nd Place in the Monochrome category for “Andreas.” George Mann achieved an Honorable Mention in the Color category for “Stagnant Flow.”

The photos were also displayed at the Art Alliance of Central PA’s “Let There Be Light” photography show in October at the Kish Expect More Store in State College. The State College Photo Club wishes to thank Danielle Crowe of State College Area High School for promoting this contest at the high school and John McQueary of the State College Framing Company for his assistance with the cost of printing and framing the photos for this exhibit. Thank you also to the Art Alliance and to Schlow Library for their support. Once this exhibit is finished, the students will receive their framed photos compliments of the club.
