OLLI Outdoor Art Group Exhibition

OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) at Penn State is a vibrant community of members, age 50 years or better, who enjoy opportunities to learn, explore and connect through classroom education, travel, and social enrichment. Artwork on display in the Allen Gallery has been created by members of OLLI’s Outdoor Art Group, a special interest group (SIG) that gathers one Wednesday afternoon per month to make art. Our founding member wrote in an early email to the group, “What I kept hearing myself say over and over again is that I wanted to start a nature journal.” And start she has! Most of our members have no formal art training but we are all, in this wonderful age and stage of life, answering the call of creativity that’s beckoning us to paint, draw, print, write, sculpt, weave and make all our “I want to’s” into reality. Come join us if you’d like!

A reception for the gallery show will be held on Thursday, 9/5, from 5pm-7:30pm. Contributing artists will be in attendance that evening and light refreshments will be served by members of the OLLI Community Engagement Committee. Come join us!
