Book discussions, a robust roundtable, and the annual writing contest provide plenty of opportunities to get involved with Centre County Reads 2023 featuring this year’s selection, Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt.

Checkout collaborative journals from Schlow. Write or draw about your day, week, or year. Share poetry, short stories, or general musings. For teens and adults of all ages.

Throughout September, visit the display of nature journals by community members who participated in the Nature Journaling program at Shaver's Creek Environmental Center.

Centre County. Schlow Library, Centre County Library and Historical Museum, Holt, and Centre Hall Libraries are now FamilySearch Affiliate Libraries. Penn State grad and artist, Rachel Eng's work will be on display outside of Schlow Library from May 6 through July 9.

Don't miss the February exhibit of local artist, Austin Van Allen. Van Allen is an American artist, painter, and art teacher based in State College, Pennsylvania. His watercolor and ink style is a relatively new direction for his artwork.
