This month's Allen Gallery features nature and wildlife-inspired, hand-painted original watercolor paintings by Danae Steele.

Steele is a self taught watercolor artist based in central PA. Steele works full time as a cardiovascular sonographer and started painting as a relaxing creative outlet. Now the artist paints almost daily, doing mostly commissioned work, A large percentage of Steele’s work focuses on pet portraits. She also tries to make time to work on her own pieces. Steele’s art is inspired by her love of nature and animals. “Being an artist,” Steele says, “makes me see and appreciate the natural beauty in the things around me everyday.
